As a project of Venture Humanity, Walk a Mile in Her Shoes aims to stop rape, sexual assault, and gender violence. Everyone is encouraged to come out in the highest heels, both men and women, to help protest sexual violence and educate the community about the issues. The walk also helps to raise money for the underfunded domestic violence shelters, rape crisis centers, and other sexualized violence prevention and recovery services.
Walk a Mile in Her Shoes International is partnering with STAND for Families Free of Violence, which is committed to promoting strong and safe families in the area. STAND brings a well-rounded and community wide approach to eliminating family violence. By enlisting the help of local residents, institutions, and partners who are striving to help stop child abuse and domestic violence, STAND provides prevention, intervention, and treatment programs for victims.
