Thanks to the cold temperatures of winter and the busyness of the holiday seasons keeping donors away, most blood banks start their year in desperate need of blood. That's why this month is such an important time to get involved in saving lives by giving your blood.

Just one pint of your blood - which should only take you about 10 minutes to give - can save up to three lives!

Every 2 seconds, someone needs a blood transfusion and that's a problem, because blood can't be manufactured. That means we have to rely entirely on donors to collect the needed blood. While 38 percent of the United States population is eligible to donate, less than 10 percent does! Break the mold and give this crucial fluid.

The great thing about donating blood is that your body can spare it! After you donate, your system will replace the blood lost in about 24 hours. What's more, you'll be able to get back to your day within 15 minutes of completing your donation!
