5 Easy Spring Cleaning Tips for Your Home

Great Tips to Make Spring Cleaning Easy

Spring cleaning feels great – once it’s finished. But getting to that point isn’t always fun or easy. To help you get there quicker, we’ve rounded up some tips and tricks to streamline the process and leave you with more time to enjoy your clean and sparkling home.

Declutter the shelves

You’ve probably wiped down the shelves, but have you decluttered? Whether you donate it, toss it, or gift it, it’s worth spending some time to remove items you no longer use or want. Highlight your most precious objects and decide to ditch the rest.

Wash blankets and throws

Blankets and throws came in handy when you wanted to cozy up in the winter months. Over time, however, they collect dust and can start to smell. Unless they’re delicate or embellished, toss them into the washing machine with your next load of laundry. If you really want to get organized, store them together so they’re all in one place.

Clean the light fixtures

Lights often get forgotten about when it comes to cleaning, but lightbulbs and the fixtures can gather several nasty layers of dust. Not only will cleaning these areas make your fixtures look brighter, but they’ll also give off more light.

Use up leftover lemons

Cut a lemon in half and rub over faucets and sinks to remove hard water stains and rust. This eco hack works great on stainless steel appliances in the kitchen and bathroom, plus it leaves behind a fresh and natural citrus smell.

Clean the showerhead

If your shower head is detachable, simply put it in the dishwasher on the next cycle. If it’s not detachable, you can clean it by letting it soak in vinegar overnight. Fill up a bag with vinegar and submerge the shower head. By the morning, the vinegar will have worked off nasty chemicals and stains!
